Doctors of Optometry

Dr. Dylan Van Der Burg
Dr. Van Der Burg grew up in a small town called Bainsville about 2 hours south of Ottawa. His family owned a farm which transitioned from dairy to poultry to agriculture throughout his childhood. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Health Sciences program at McMaster University and obtained his Optometry Degree from University of Waterloo, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List. In his fourth year of optometry school, he completed his ocular disease rotation in Miami, Florida where he gained experience in the management and treatment of glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Van Der Burg spends his time working out at the gym, watching football on Sundays, and spending time with friends and family. He is excited to be joining KOC and providing eye care to the Kanata and the Greater Ottawa regions.

Dr. Sabrina Hajo
Dr. Hajo was born and raised in Ottawa and is excited to begin her career in her
hometown. She studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Ottawa, earning her
Bachelor of Science degree in 2018. She then graduated from the University of
Waterloo School of Optometry in 2022. During her studies, she completed externships
at clinics in Ottawa and Kitchener where she gained experience diagnosing and
managing ocular conditions and disease in patients of all ages.
Dr. Hajo is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society
of Optometrists. Outside of the office, Dr. Hajo enjoys baking, reading, and learning
about different cultures through food and travel. She’s looking forward to caring for your
eyes!

Dr.Katherine Ebata
Dr. Ebata was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. After earning her bachelor’s degree
in Biomedical Science at the University of Ottawa, she went on to complete her Doctor
of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2022, graduating on the Dean’s Honour
List.
During her studies, Dr. Ebata completed externships in both Ottawa and rural
Saskatchewan. There, she managed patients with a variety of ocular diseases including
glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataracts.
Dr. Ebata is currently a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the
Ottawa Society of Optometrists. In her spare time, she enjoys taking fitness classes,
golfing, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Ebata looks forward to
providing her patients with the utmost quality of care.
Dr. Ebata is bilingual and can provide services in both English and French.
