Dr. Amanda Spielman

Dr. Spielman grew up in the small south-western Ontario town of Bayfield and
graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2005. After
graduation, she moved to Kanata and has been practising full scope optometry in
Ottawa ever since. She joined Kanata Optometry in 2009.

From the time she got her first pair of glasses at age 15, she knew that she wanted to
pursue a career in Optometry. In 2008, she participated in an eye care project to Belize,
Central America.

Outside the office, Amanda likes to stay active. She and her husband love to mountain
bike and ski with their three kids, and also enjoy backcountry canoe camping and
traveling. Amanda also teaches group fitness classes at Wowfit, a women’s only
bootcamp in Beaverbrook.

Dr. Spielman loves seeing patients of all ages, especially children, as part of her
primary eye care practice. Some of her areas of focus are contact lenses, myopia
control and laser vision correction co-management. Her passion is to help patients
achieve optimal vision correction for their lifestyle and educate people about their eye
health.
